Simutrans Manual - How to use a rail depot

The next pictures display how to build a train in a train depot. At first the train depot window has to be opened. This can be done by clicking a train depot with the inquiry tool. The train depot windows is divided into 4 parts. On the right side new vehicles are displayed. They can be bought by simply clicking the images. On the lower left all waggons which are stored in this depot will be show. The middle left row will show the locomotives stored in this depot. The top left row will show the currently assembled train.

The next sections describe, how to build a train.

Move the mouse cursor over the small images to get some information about the locomotives and waggons. Simply click one of the locomotives or waggons on the right side of the window to buy it. The new locomotive will automatically be assigned to the current train and appears on the top left row. Subsequent bought locomotives will appear on the middle left row. New waggons will be assigned to the current train.
Now buy a locomotive and three waggons of your choice. They will be assigned to the current train. To change the assembly just click on the top left row. All locomotives will appear in the left middle row, all waggons will appear in the bottom left row of the window. A train depot can store at most 10 locomotives and 40 waggons.
Now the first train is ready to start. See How to set up a schedule to learn how to give the train a schedule. Once the schedule is set, you can press "Start" to start the current train. It may take a few seconds until the train leaves the depot.
