Starting Simutrans

Startup

 

Linux, BeOS

After decompressing the archive, you have to change into the newly created "simutrans" directory i.e. by typing "cd simutrans". Then type "./simutrans" to start the simulation.

Windows

After decompressing the archive, you can start Simutrans by double clicking the simutrans.exe in the explorer or from a DOS box by cd'ing int the simutrans directory and typing "simutrans".

If Simutrans doesn't start, please send me an e-mail. I'll try to fix the problem as fast as possible.

Please read the readme.txt file of your Simutrans installation for a complete list of command line switches.

Using command line switches with Windows

  1. Open an MS-DOS command prompt (most likely to be found in the "start" menu).
  2. Change into your Simutrans directory i.e. cd c:\simutrans
  3. Start Simutrans and list all required command line switches, i.e. simutrans -freeplay -screensize 900x600

Using command line switches with Linux

  1. Open an xterm
  2. Change into your Simutrans directory i.e. cd simutrans
  3. Start Simutrans and list all required command line switches, i.e. ./simutrans -freeplay -screensize 900x600
